Discover and learn of the flora and fauna at the beautiful Portumna Castle and Gardens during Biodiversity Week, which runs from 19th to 28th May.
For the duration of Biodiversity week, families can participate in a fun biodiversity quiz based in their 17th century walled kitchen garden.
Primary Schools can now book a fascinating biodiversity food web game, available on Monday 22nd, Tuesday 23rd, and Thursday 25th May.
This engaging and educational activity allows children to explore the intricate connections between plants and animals.
As part of the experience, Craft Gardener Lynn O’Keeffe-Lascar will accompany the children on a tour of the walled garden.
On Sunday 21st May at 3pm, Lynn O’Keeffe-Lascar will present an informative talk: ‘Wildflower meadow and flowery mixes: The difference and getting started and maintaining’.
This talk is free, but places are limited to 50 people so booking is essential.
