Minister Rabbitte welcomes €933k for four Galway outdoor adventure projects

Minister for Disability and Fianna Fáil TD for Galway East, Anne Rabbitte, has welcomed an allocation of €933,050 for four outdoor adventure projects in county Galway.

All measures under ORIS are supported by the Department of Rural and Community Development in partnership with Fáilte Ireland.

The investment is being made under the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS) and will see recreational projects in Woodford (€200,000), Loughrea (€50,000), Portumna (€499,585) and Letterfrack (€183,465) supported. All measures under ORIS are supported by the Department of Rural and Community Development in partnership with Fáilte Ireland. 

Welcoming the funding, Minister Rabbitte said:

This investment supports rural towns in Galway and makes the likes of Loughrea, Portumna and Woodford even more attractive destinations for adventure tourism. 

These projects will benefit people of all ages and abilities for generations to come.

Outdoor pursuits have become an even bigger part of all of our lives over the past two years.
